I apologize to all of you who where on the server when I tried to join the server. I kept getting bailed off. Sometimes when tried to get back on it would do it again. Then the game would freeze up, so I had to start all over. I keep getting blamed for things out of my control. I'm at my wits end, I would like to be able run with the group. I'm 70 years old and not as computer smart as some of you younger guys. If any of you could help me out, I would be grateful .

I would recommend starting by watching the training videos posted here: southwestrailsim.freeforums.net/thread/706/srs-training-video-seriesIf you still need help after watching them, feel free to ask us about what you are still having trouble with. I'm not really sure what would be causing you to get bailed out right away, or what is freezing the game. Maybe your computer is having issues handling the program. We will do our best to help you, but please watch the videos first, then ask questions on what you are having trouble with still. Thanks, Clint

I watched Bob work in East LA yesterday and there isn't an issue with his train handling skills. His connection to the server is strong, with a ping rate of 68 which is pretty much the best anyone else gets. I'm thinking maybe it's Bob's anti-virus software, Windows defender or something similar shutting down his connection because it's not a trusted/known site?
If anyone has any ideas, please share.
Thanks, Mike

That might be something to look at. I have never had any issues with antivirus or firewall so I'm not sure what the symptoms look like. I'm sure someone will have some ideas to help sort this out. We always can use and welcome more people to the server, especially when they already have good train handling skills. Hope we can help him sort this out and have him join us on a regular basis.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled everything. I hope this will solve the issues. Do I stop the game AI so it does not interfere with the sever? I am going to try coming on the server later today, so be fore warned. When I first come onto the server I should establish comms where I'm at such as West Colton Yard, am I correct? SMRY, it is nice to know there are people my age on the server. I am a retired disabled vet looking for something to keep me occupied . Hey to all the vets that are out there.

There is no requirement to announce where you are working. It is good practice to let other people know who may be working in the same area. Generally people will say hello and exchange pleasantries when you join. So you can find out where everyone is working if you like or just check the work list as everyone should have a job assigned if they are working something. Hope you get your connection issues sorted out and can enjoy some time on the server.

Bob, this is just a suggestion but make sure that you have the latest updates for all routes. Also you might want to check your Client logon info to see if it is correct, you can see the multiplayer info at Website/Forum URL. Hope this helps.

Tim you just made me think of something.
Bob make sure when you have Run 8 started up on your computer, bring up the F1 screen and open the License tab. You must have a Green dot displayed indicating your client version is registered properly. There's a comment on that screen that says Yellow and Red dots will make things "interesting". Just trying to think of anything I can to help resolve the condition.
Thanks, Mike

I did reinstall everything , went on the server for a while, seems to be stable. Mind you I did not drive any trains. May had a corrupt file, do not know. Green dot.
