Did I miss an announced vacation for operations? The work list hasn't been updated in a while and there hasn't been a session in a while.

Sorry Mike did post that due to work he would not be able to get the clock in motion. So there has not been any DS sessions. And from the what Mike sent us admins in a email there maybe more interruptions to the server. He did mention maybe a weekend DS session or 2.

I added a few things to the Work List today as well. I would like to make sure we get the yard and local work caught up and then plan for a DS session and advancing the clock further into the schedule. If we can use Tuesday and/or Wednesday night this week to run some locals that require an on duty DS, maybe that will help even things out a bit.
Thanks, Mike

No problem. I just thought it was for a week on the announced downtime.

I just wasn't being realistic of how challenging this project going live at work was going to be. It's still kicking my backside quite a bit even this week, and it's unlikely I'll be able to participate very much for this 3rd week now.
Quite a bit of work in Barstow and West Colton right now on the Work List. Also keep in mind when it comes to hump and trim jobs in WC and Barstow, those can be worked as a team with 1 taking the hump units and the other the trim units. If one of the admins (or maybe me) are on the server tonight then maybe the 2 local jobs requiring a DS can be run.
Thanks, Mike

Are we short on DS's? I generally work late, unfortunately, but if the community doesn't mind a later start for the session, I could do those every other week.

I think we are short on available time and/or interest overall. I know most of this situation was started by myself when this thread was originally posted. The way we operate at SRS I generate all of the traffic and spawn it during sessions according to the schedule. So if I'm not available, no new trains are generated into the region.
We have had some shortages on the dispatching side as well, but right now it's the traffic generation that is holding us back. So it's definitely me.
However we still have jobs on the Job List that aren't getting done, besides the 2 that require a DS to be on duty. I would definitely want to have the L-CAL0611 built in Barstow so it could run when we do have a session.
Thanks, Mike

I know I have been hit and miss for a while now, but I have my life figured out again and now my availability will begin to open up. I’m not sure what the qualifications are for DS or other key positions, but I will help any way I can.

No problem about being hit and miss, glad you have things figured out now. I plan to create a couple of new posts tonight to kickoff discussions about what folks are interested in and what changes could potentially be made to make their SRS experience more enjoyable.
I'm sure right now two of the items would be consistency and communications.
Thanks, Mike
