FYI, I have added some logic to the Work List page to allow jobs to stay on Hold status until other jobs are completed. So now if you don't want a job to be Available until another is complete, that can be done.
You will see a Job Number column. This is auto generated. You will also see a Dependent On column. This is where you will put the Job number that this job is dependent on being complete before job is available.
Example: Job A must be completed before Job B is available. So in the row of Job B, put A in the Dependent On field and Job B will not show as Available until Job A has been Completed. If there any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to post them here.

I'm not sure how it complicates it. It would only require one more entry and only if the job should not be available until another is complete.I feel this way would be much easier than having to write a bunch of extra things in the description stating when a job can be done. Really no need to be tech or automation savvy to use this. Also, it's not necessary to use. You could still go on with adding all the notes in the description as to when a certain is available.

The columns and fields are there but not mandatory. If you don't want to use it, you would just need to leave the Dependent On field blank and it will set status based on Available Date.

Chris,
I like this update to the Work List as I have always wished there was a way to create dependencies between items rather than having to include additional text in the instructions. From what I see this does impact what is expected of the person looking for an assignment, the availability of a task would be controlled by any dependencies. For the person creating a task, if there is a dependency on another task being completed first then you enter that task ID in the "Dependent On" column. If there's no dependencies then there's nothing to enter. Simple and straight-forward entry and a touch of automation to improve sequencing of task. Thanks!

I fully support the changes that have been made. Actually Chris and I discussed the idea initially, he took the ball and ran with it, and now we have a solution to a problem we had to work around manually before. It's a great way to automate and have the sheet track the dependencies and then make the jobs available after any dependent jobs have been completed.
If the new feature isn't understood, ask questions please.
