Hi,
I have a question about the resgistry, because I see that there are rows that does not show the current status of the track
I mean, can we set tracks to open, or set them as assigned, or whatever change needed, to show the current status of the tracks. Or is it better to leave those updates (or maybe some updates) to admins to grab whatever info they need?
Current example at 08:12 PT, D413 on WC shows 'M-WCLBAR1 - departed', can I made a registry entry to show the current status? It would be 'assgined RV'.
Regards, Egoitz

In a case like this you can and should update the registry. This update should have happened when the first string of cars was placed on this track after the train departed. I will caution you though to be careful when updating the registry, specifically in places like San Bernardino and Hobart, as a lot of those updates happen when the work is posted, instead of when the work happens, so that it is easier for us to keep track what is going on as there is the intermodal process is quite a bit differen't than the manifest yards like West Colton and Barstow.
I try to make sure that I clarify in the jobs if a registry update should be made or not.
Thanks,
Clint

Ok, understood, but there are times in the 'hump, trim as needed' works, where we need to select an open track to move cars on (maybe this is the relevant, and hidden, part of my question).
I feel comfortable doing registry updates, but I don't know how this affect on the admins management side, in the sense of how a change helps or hurts admins/users.
Thank you.

A change like you were asking about is fine. You know the train departed so it has nothing to do with that track anymore. It essentially became an open track. Now there are different cars on it, so it should be changed to show what is on it.
