This is meant more as a question / discussion item. So I have noticed the past few times that I have been working in the BAR registry tab, under "Mainline Departures" trains where still showing as "Released" even though they had already departed and the departure track was updated to status "Open". I am assuming that this is because a registry entry was made to immediately open the departure track instead of first submitting a "Departed" entry and then followed by an "Open" entry.
I wasn't sure if it was required to keep the Mainline Departures section of the registry page up to date or not, which is why I am bring this up for discussion. If it is, then it would help if someone departs a train from one of the yards to post the departure status first and then follow it with the open status so that the mainline departures section updates properly. If it is not required to keep the mainline departures section updated, then maybe we should consider removing the status updates for that part of the registry? Or come up with another solution that makes more sense.
Not sure what the solution is or how everyone would like it managed, but in the past few days I've updated the departure status for M-BARSDG, H-BARVAW, M-BARBEL, M-BARSTO, X-BARCOK and M-BARWCL as the departure tracks for these trains were updated to Open, but these were still showing Released under Mainline Departures.

I would like to have the departure statuses entered. I use the Mainline Departures section of the BAR page to keep track of the upcoming departures. I would ask that if a train is departed, do not open the departure track until after the departure status is entered.
I realize that when there is a single dispatcher on duty, there is a lot going on, and if they have to depart a train on their own, they would then be responsible for making the two separate registry entries to make this happen correctly. I would prefer if either no update was made, or just the departed update is made. Then the next time I jump on the server, I can see that the track is open but not yet open in the registry, which would tell me that the train departed and I need to make the necessary updates. If the track is just opened in the registry, and is also open in the game world. There is no indication that that a departed status needs to be made for that train.
On a side note, if you were wondering about the hold statuses in the Mainline Departures section, that is what I set them to when we go into a new cycle so that we don't have leftover departed statuses from last cycle and it makes it easier to know where we are in the schedule.
I certainly would not like to see the Mainline Departures section removed, as the only other way to see what is coming up in the schedule is to look through the current day's schedule tab and try to find the trains that are departing Barstow that way. While this is possible to do, it is much easier to have the information right on the Barstow page.
